South Africa's
Leaders of Tomorrow
At City Year, we believe that all learners can succeed and that developing the skills and mindsets of children and young adults contributes to strong, vibrant communities—outcomes that benefit all of us.
The challenge
Many learners lack access to learning environments and resources they need to thrive in school and in life, due to systemic inequities. Many young people lack pathways to meaningful employment. Through a year of service, City Year addresses both of these crucial issues.
What we do
City Year South Africa service leaders serve in schools and education sites to prepare learners with the social, emotional and academic skills and mindsets to succeed in school and in life.
City Year service leaders not only make a difference in the lives of learners they serve, but also acquire valuable skills that help them and prepare them to be leaders in their communities and their careers.
City Year serves as a pathway to the world of work for service leaders.
Celebrating their 10th year anniversary, City Year South Africa's aim is to equip young volunteers with skills & opportunities.
