1. Is City Year South Africa a learnership, an internship, or a school?
No, City Year South Africa is none of these. It is a full-time National Youth Service Programme, not formal employment nor an educational institution. City Year is a volunteer programme, and engages young people in a year of service, dedicated to improving the lives of children and communities in Gauteng.

City Year South Africa is only open to South African citizens or permanent residents, and unfortunately there are no exceptions to this requirement.

5. After completing my City Year, what happens next?
Although City Year is not a recruitment or placement agency, City Year does assist graduates to identify and apply for viable exit opportunities.
